DESCRIPTION

When the ignition switch is turned to ACC or ON, the accessory meter operates as follows.
w/ Cruise Information:
The accessory meter receives light control switch signals and combination meter signals, and performs illumination dim operations.
w/o Cruise Information:
The accessory meter receives light control switch signals and performs illumination dim operations.

1. CHECK ILLUMINATION FUNCTION
(a) Check the illumination function.

2. INSPECT FUSE (PANEL)
(a) Remove the PANEL fuse from the main body ECU.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ACCESSORY METER - BATTERY)





(a) Disconnect the K20 accessory meter connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:

C -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
B -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ACCESSORY METER - BODY GROUND)
A -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER - ACCESSORY METER AND BODY GROUND)





(a) Disconnect the J28 combination meter connector.
(b) Disconnect the K20 accessory meter connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. REPLACE ACCESSORY METER ASSEMBLY
(a) Temporarily replace the accessory meter with a new or normally functioning one (Removal).
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK ACCESSORY METER ASSEMBLY (OPERATION)
(a) Check the accessory meter operation.
OK:
Operation of the accessory meter returns to normal.
NG -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
OK -- END (ACCESSORY METER IS DEFECTIVE)
7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ACCESSORY METER - BODY GROUND)





(a) Disconnect the K20 accessory meter connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
8. REPLACE ACCESSORY METER ASSEMBLY
(a) Temporarily replace the accessory meter with a new or normally functioning one (Removal).
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
9. CHECK ACCESSORY METER ASSEMBLY (OPERATION)
(a) Check that the accessory meter operation is normal.
OK:
Operation of the accessory meter returns to normal.
NG -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
OK -- END (ACCESSORY METER IS DEFECTIVE)
