Introduction
Some Sequoia or Tundra vehicles with AB60 (6 speed) transmissions may exhibit transmission slipping MIL "ON" with transmission shift performance DTCs such as P2714, P0751, P0756, P0761, P0766, P0729, P0781, P0894, or P0776, or harsh shifting due to damage to the C1 clutch assembly. Installation of revised Engine Control Module/ECM (SAE term: Powertrain Control Module/PCM) software logic may be required to repair the vehicle. Follow the repair procedure in this bulletin to address customer concerns.
NOTE
The DTC that is stored first will have 5 frames of Freeze Frame Data. If P2714 is set first, the transmission fluid level may be incorrect.
Repair Procedure Overview
1. Reflash the ECM (PCM).
2. Test drive and confirm if the MIL "ON" or shifting issues recur.
3. Replace the transmission if necessary.
Warranty Information
APPLICABLE WARRANTY
^ This repair is covered under the Toyota Federal Emission Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 96 months or 80,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

Repair Procedure
1. Check for the Authorized Modifications Label affixed to the vehicle in the location shown in Figure 1. Confirm if the ECM (PCM) calibration has been updated. If the calibration ID listed is NOT the latest ECM (PCM) calibration - go to step 2.
2. Flash Reprogram the ECM (PCM).
^ The GR8 Battery Diagnostic Station MUST be used in Power Supply Mode to maintain battery voltage at 13.5 volts while flash reprogramming the vehicle.
^ For details on how to use the GR8 Battery Diagnostic Station, refer to the located on the Technical Information System (TIS), Diagnostics Battery
Follow the procedures outlined in TSB No. T-SB-0064-10, "Techstream ECU Flash Reprogramming Procedure and flash the ECM (PCM) with the NEW calibration file update.
3. Reset the transmission memory then test drive the vehicle and confirm proper operation.
Refer to TIS applicable model and model year Repair Manual:
4. If any of the following conditions exist check the automatic transaxle fluid and adjust if necessary.
^ MIL "ON" with transmission performance DTCs.
^ Harsh shifting.
^ Transmission slipping.

For additional information including animations and video illustrations, please see the Technical Training course E076, Toyota ATF Level Inspection".
Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS), applicable model and model year Repair Manual:
NOTE
Incorrectly adjusted fluid level can cause transmission shifting issues, including no vehicle movement, slipping, and/or MIL "ON" conditions.
5. Are any of the conditions listed in step 4 still present after confirming correct transmission fluid level?
^ YES - Remove and replace the automatic transmission assembly w/torque converter.
^ NO - Go to step 6 (install Authorized Modifications Label).
Refer to TIS applicable model and model year Repair Manual:
6. Install the Authorized Modifications Label.
A. Using a permanent marker enter the following information on the label:
^ ECM part number [Refer to the Parts In formation section for the CURRENT PART NUMBER]
^ Calibration ID(s) [Refer to the Calibration Identification Chart for the NEW CALIBRATION ID]
^ Dealer Code
^ Repair Date
^ Change Authority [This TSB number]
B. Affix the Authorized Modifications Label to the vehicle at the location shown in Figure 1. The Authorized Modifications Label is available through the MDC P/N 00451-00001-LBL.
