INTRODUCTION:
If the transfer case assembly or transfer case actuator assembly is replaced on some 2007 and 2008 model year Tundra vehicles, the four wheel drive (4WD) computer (ECM) may need to be replaced at the same time due to transfer case assembly and 4WD ECM logic changes. Refer to the procedure below to confirm if replacement of the 4WD ECM will be required at the same time as the transfer case assembly or transfer case actuator assembly replacement.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. When replacing the transfer case assembly or transfer case actuator assembly on a 2007 or 2008 model year Tundra, confirm if the vehicle is produced prior to the Production Change Effective VINs in this TSB.
Is the vehicle produced AFTER the Production Change Effective VIN?
- YES - This TSB does NOT apply - 4WD ECM replacement is NOT required.
- NO - Go to step 2.
2. Confirm the 4WD ECM part number installed in the vehicle.
A. To access the 4WD ECM and confirm the ECM part number, refer to the Repair Manual within E-TAS / TIS library:

B. Is the 4WD computer part number 89533-0C031?
- YES - the 4WD computer has already been replaced. This TSB does NOT apply. Replacement of the 4WD ECM is NOT required.
- NO - Go to step 3.
3. Replace the 4WD ECM.
