INTRODUCTION:

Some 2007 - 2008 model year Tundra and 2008 model year Sequoia vehicles with a 5.7-liter engine may exhibit an oil leak from the oil pan area. This condition may be caused by a leaking O ring on the dipstick tube. Use the following repair procedure to address the customer's concern.

This TSB applies to vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown.






REQUIRED TOOLS & EQUIPMENT:






PARTS INFORMATION:

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Inspect leak location.







2. If the leak is found to be coming from the dipstick tube, remove the engine oil dipstick tube by removing the bolt.
3. Remove the old O-ring from the dipstick tube.
4. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the NEW O-ring.
5. Install the NEW O-ring to the dipstick tube.







6. Install the dipstick tube into the pan with the bolt.
Torque: 10 N-m (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)

7. Start the engine and verify the condition is repaired.
