Applicability

Introduction

Some 2007 - 2008 model year Tundra Double Cab customers may experience a rattling noise coming from under the rear seat of the vehicle due to the jack band separating. The following procedure has been developed to correct this condition.

APPLICABLE WARRANTY

^ This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

^ Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.

Jack Band Repair Without Under Seat Storage





1. Pull the reclining adjusting handle and fold up the seat cushion.

2. Remove the hook from the separated rubber jack band and discard the band.





3. Attach the jack to the floor using a NEW jack band (P/N 58780-0C030).





4. Attach the hook from the separated band (in step 2) to the NEW jack band assembly.

NOTE
If the original hook is missing, order a NEW hook (P/N 58796-OC010).





5. Relocate the tool bag to the other side of the seat frame and attach with the modified jack band created in step 4.

CAUTION
Ensure nothing is trapped between the seat frame and tool bag when installing.

6. Verify the jack and tool bag are secure.

Jack Band Repair With Under Seat Storage





1. Pull the 2 reclining adjusting handles and fold up the seat cushion.





2. Turn the knob and open the left hand cover. Then detach the hooks and remove the cover.





3. Turn the knob and open the right hand cover. Then detach the hooks and remove the cover.





4. Remove the 4 knobs then detach the claw and remove the seat floor box.

5. Remove the 2 bolts securing the seat frame of the 40 side of the 60/40 split seat.





6. Insert the Service Bracket (PIN 75204-34010) and secure with the seat frame bolts.

Torque: 37 N*m (377 kg*cm, 27 ft*lbf)

7. Connect the jack band (P/N 58780-35020) to the Service Bracket.

8. Relocate the tool bag to the Service Bracket and secure with the jack band.





9. Attach the jack to the floor using a NEW jack band (PIN 58780-0C030).

10. Verify the jack and tool bag are secure.
