Key Lock-in Prevention Function does not Work Properly (Manual Operation and Operation Interlocked with Key are Active)
DESCRIPTION
The unlock warning switch turns ON when the key is inserted in the ignition key cylinder. The courtesy light switch turns ON when the driver side door is opened. These 2 switches are monitored by the body ECU. In order to prevent the key from being locked in, the body ECU controls door locking operation according to conditions of these switches, so the doors are not locked.

PROCEDURE
1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM
(a) Using the Techstream, check that the unlock warning switch signal is output when the switch is operated.
Body
OK -- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the unlock warning switch.
(b) Inspect the unlock warning switch continuity.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPLACE UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH - BODY ECU)
(a) Disconnect the K3 unlock warning switch and B6 body ECU connectors.
(b) Check the continuity between the terminals of the unlock warning switch (K3) and body ECU (B6) connectors.
Standard resistance (Check for open):
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY
4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM
(a) Using the Techstream, check that the driver door courtesy switch signal is output when the switch is operated.
BODY:
OK -- REPLACE COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH
NG -- Continue to next step.
5. INSPECT COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH
(a) Remove the courtesy light switch.
(b) Inspect the courtesy light switch continuity.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH - BODY ECU)
(a) Disconnect the courtesy light switch and body ECU connectors.
(b) Check the continuity between the terminals of the courtesy light switch (D12) and body ECU (B5) connectors.
Standard resistance (Check for open):
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY
