Vehicle Speed Signal Circuit

DESCRIPTION

This A/C amplifier monitors the vehicle speed through signals sent from the speed sensor. The A/C amplifier uses these signals to receive the ambient temperature sensor signal.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER (SPD)




(a) Remove the A/C amplifier with the connectors still connected.
(b) Shift the shift lever to neutral.
(c) Lift up the vehicle.
(d) Turn the ignition switch ON.




(e) Measure the voltage between terminal SPD of the A/C amplifier connector and body ground when the wheel is turned slowly.
Standard:
Voltage is generated intermittently is as shown in the illustration.

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - A/C AMPLIFIER)
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - A/C AMPLIFIER)
(a) Check for open and short circuit in the harness and the connector between the combination meter assembly and the A/C amplifier Electronic Circuit Inspection Procedure.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
