BRAKE: REAR BRAKE: DISASSEMBLY
DISASSEMBLY
1. REMOVE CYLINDER BOOT
(a) Using a screwdriver, remove the cylinder boot from the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
2. REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE PISTON
(a) Place a cloth or equivalent between the piston and the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.
(b) Use compressed air to remove the piston from the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.
CAUTION: Do not place your fingers in front of the piston when using compressed air.
NOTE: Do not spatter the brake fluid.
3. REMOVE PISTON SEAL
(a) Using a screwdriver, remove the piston seal from the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.
4. REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE BLEEDER PLUG
(a) Remove the bleeder plug cap and bleeder plug from the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.
5. INSPECT BRAKE CYLINDER AND PISTON Rear Brake
6. INSPECT PAD LINING THICKNESS Rear Brake
7. INSPECT REAR DISC BRAKE PAD SUPPORT PLATE Rear Brake
8. INSPECT DISC THICKNESS Rear Brake
