Applicability
Introduction
Some Sequoia vehicles may exhibit a condition where the power rear hatch switch is loose or falls into the rear interior trim panel. An improved switch housing assembly has been developed to correct this condition.
Production Change Information
This TSB applies to vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown.

APPLICABLE WARRANTY
^ This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.
^ Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.

Repair Procedure
1. Remove the cargo quarter trim panel assembly.
A. Raise the handle disengage the 4 guides and remove the No.2 deck board.
B. Remove the luggage compartment trim box.
(1) Remove the 4 caps.
(2) Remove the 4 bolts and the luggage compartment trim box.
C. Remove the rope hook assembly from the rear floor mat support plate.
(1) Using a plastic trim tool disengage the 2 claws and remove the cover.
(2) Remove the bolt and the rope hook.
D. Disengage the 5 clips and the 4 claws and remove the rear floor mat support plate.
E. Remove the LH quarter trim panel assembly with power seat.
(1) Disengage the 3 claws and remove the outer lap belt anchor cover.
(2) Remove the bolt and outer lap belt anchor.
(3) Remove the bolt and outer lap belt anchor.
(4) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the cover.
(5) Remove the 2 bolts.
With Power Rear Seat:
(6) Disengage the 2 clamps and remove the wire harness.
(7) Disengage the 14 clips and 2 clamps.
(8) Disconnect the 3 connectors and remove the quarter trim panel.
Without Power Rear Seat:
(9) Disengage the 14 clips.
(10) Disconnect the connector and remove the quarter trim panel.
2. Remove the rear window No.2 side garnish assembly LH.
A. Using a screwdriver disengage the claw and remove the cover.
B. Remove the bolt.
C. Disengage the 5 clips.
D. Disconnect the connector.
E. Pass the rear seat outer belt floor anchor through the rear window No.2 side garnish and remove the rear window No.2 side garnish.
3. Unscrew the switch assembly from the trim panel and disconnect the connector.
4. Separate the switch from the housing by disengaging the 4 tabs and replace with new housing.
5. Install the switch assembly into trim panel.
6. Reconnect connector and install cargo trim panel.
7. Install the remaining components in reverse order.
8. Install the outer lap belt anchor with bolt. Torque: 42 N*m (428 kg*cm, 31 ft*lbf)
9. Press and hold the switch for 2 seconds to confirm the repair and proper switch operation.
