DESCRIPTION

When the power back door ECU receives a jam signal from the touch sensor while the power back door closer is operating, the ECU reverses the back door operation and opens the door.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (POWER BACK DOOR TOUCH SENSOR)

(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the power back door touch sensor.

OK:

The display is as specified in the normal condition.

NG -- INSPECT POWER BACK DOOR TOUCH SENSOR

OK -- REPLACE POWER BACK DOOR DRIVE UNIT (POWER BACK DOOR ECU) Problem Symptoms Table

2. INSPECT POWER BACK DOOR TOUCH SENSOR

(a) Remove the power back door touch sensor. Removal





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE POWER BACK DOOR TOUCH SENSOR Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER BACK DOOR TOUCH SENSOR - POWER BACK DOOR DRIVE UNIT AND BODY GROUND)

(a) LH Side





(1) Disconnect the T7 sensor connectors.

(2) Disconnect the O15 ECU connector.

(3) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





(b) RH Side





(1) Disconnect the T8 sensor connectors.

(2) Disconnect the O15 ECU connector.

(3) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE POWER BACK DOOR DRIVE UNIT (POWER BACK DOOR ECU) Problem Symptoms Table
