Removal





POWER STEERING: POWER STEERING ECU: REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION

CAUTION:
Be sure to read "PRECAUTION" thoroughly before servicing Service Precautions

2. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD

3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag working.

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization

4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH Removal

5. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Removal

6. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Air Conditioning System) Removal

7. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Air Conditioning System) Removal

8. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY Removal

9. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

(a) Separate the wire harness clamp from the instrument panel junction block assembly.





(b) Disconnect the connectors from the instrument panel junction block assembly.

(c) Remove the 3 nuts.

(d) Move the instrument panel junction block assembly and disengage the wire harness clamp.





(e) Disconnect the connectors from the back of the instrument panel junction block assembly.

(f) Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly.

10. REMOVE POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the 4 connectors from the power steering ECU assembly.





(b) Remove the 3 nuts and the power steering ECU assembly.
