DESCRIPTION

The power steering ECU receives engine speed signals from the ECM via CAN communication. The power steering ECU provides appropriate assisting force in accordance with the engine speed signal.

1. CHECK OTHER DTC OUTPUT (CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM)

(a) Check if DTC U0073 is output Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

DTC U0073 indicates a CAN communication malfunction in the power steering system.

2. CHECK OTHER DTC OUTPUT (ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM)

(a) Using the Techstream, check for DTCs and confirm that there are no problems in the engine control system DTC Check / Clear for 1GR-FE, DTC Check / Clear for 2TR-FE).
