Low Vibration

Low Vibration and Low Noise Body

1. General

Effective application of vibration damping and noise suppressing materials reduce engine and road noise.

2. Body Shell Construction

A dash panel silencer is used for the dash panel. The dash panel silencer is made of breathable material and has sound absorbing characteristics. The adoption of this silencer improves sound insulation performance and achieves weight reduction.

3. Sound Absorbing and Vibration Damping Materials

^ To reduce noise and vibration, felt with a thickness of 10 mm (0.39 in.) is used for the inner cowl side trim, front door trim, and access door trim. Felt with a thickness of 40 mm (1.57 in.) is used for the roof headlining.

^ A Urethane-based material is used for the roof headlining as sound absorbing material.

4. Floor Pad

A sound absorbing pad is used for the floor pad on the front passenger side to reduce shock and absorb noise from the floor.

5. Reducing Wind Noise

Wind noise has been reduced through the adoption of the following item:

^ Outer Side Member

^ Front Pillar Garnish

^ Front Pillar Reinforcement

^ Fender Panel

^ Rear Pillar Reinforcement and Quarter Pillar Reinforcement

^ Rear Pillar Lower Reinforcement
