APPLICABILITY:


INTRODUCTION:

Some 2010 - 2011 model year 4Runner and FJ Cruiser vehicles equipped with the 1GR-FE (4.0 L) engine may exhibit an intermittent MIL "ON" condition with Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) P2111 and/or P2112 (Throttle Actuator Control System) stored in the Engine Control Module or ECM (SAE Term: Powertrain Control Module/PCM). Use the following repair procedure to address this condition.

REQUIRED TOOLS & EQUIPMENT:

NOTE

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Using ETAS Techstream, retrieve any stored DTCs.
2. If DTC P2111 or P2112 are present, replace the throttle body assembly.

- 2010 4Runner:
Engine/Hybrid System - Engine Control - "1GR-FE Engine Control: Throttle Body: Removal / Installation"

- 2011 4Runner:
Engine/Hybrid System - Engine Control - "1GR-FE Engine Control: Throttle Body: Removal / Installation"

- 2010 FJ Cruiser:
Engine/Hybrid System - Engine Control - "1GR-FE Engine Control System: Throttle Body: Removal / Installation"

- 2011 FJ Cruiser:

3. After the repair is complete, clear any DTCs, and confirm normal system operation and that there are NO pending DTCs.
