DESCRIPTION

This circuit sends a signal of the back-up light switch or park/neutral position switch to the clearance warning ECU.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK TRANSMISSION TYPE

(a) Check the transmission type.

Result





B -- INSPECT BACK-UP LIGHT SWITCH
A -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH

(a) Inspect the park/neutral position switch .

NG -- REPLACE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH - CLEARANCE WARNING ECU AND IGNITION SWITCH)

(a) Disconnect the B35 park/neutral position switch connector.

(b) Disconnect the E80 clearance warning ECU connector.

(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:





(d) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





(e) Reconnect the park/neutral position switch connector.

(f) Reconnect the clearance warning ECU connector.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Intuitive Parking Assist System

4. INSPECT BACK-UP LIGHT SWITCH

(a) Remove the back-up light switch.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

(c) Reinstall the back-up light switch.

NG -- REPLACE BACK-UP LIGHT SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BACK-UP LIGHT SWITCH - CLEARANCE WARNING ECU AND IGNITION SWITCH)

(a) Disconnect the B42 back-up light switch connector.

(b) Disconnect the E80 clearance warning ECU connector.

(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:





(d) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





(e) Reconnect the back-up light switch connector.

(f) Reconnect the clearance warning ECU connector.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
