DESCRIPTION

The smart key system uses the combination meter buzzer to perform various vehicle interior warnings. When the conditions for each warning are met, the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) sends a buzzer signal to the meter ECU, and the combination meter buzzer sounds.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
Before performing the inspection, check that there are no problems related to "CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM" and "LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM".

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (OPERATION)

(a) Turn the engine switch on (IG). Place luggage on the front passenger seat to cause the front passenger seat belt warning light to blink.

(b) When driving the vehicle at 15 km/h or higher, check that the seat belt warning buzzer sounds to inform that the front passenger seat belt is not fastened.

HINT
The smart key system sounds the buzzer built into the combination meter for indoor warnings. This buzzer is also used for the seat belt warning system. Therefore, check the operation of the combination meter buzzer by checking if the buzzer sounds to inform that the seat belt is not fastened.
