Speaker Circuit
NAVIGATION: NAVIGATION SYSTEM: Speaker Circuit
- Speaker Circuit
DESCRIPTION
The sound signals amplified by the stereo component amplifier assembly are sent to the speakers from the stereo component amplifier assembly via the speaker circuit.
If there is a short in this circuit, the stereo component amplifier assembly detects it and stops output to the speakers.
Thus sound cannot be heard from the speakers even if there is no malfunction in the stereo component amplifier assembly or speakers.
If a short is detected in the speaker circuit, no sound can be heard from the speakers.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
(a) Disconnect the N15 and N16 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.
(b) Disconnect the H5 and G5 front No. 1 speaker assembly connectors.
(c) Disconnect the F3 and f1 front No. 2 speaker assembly connectors.
(d) Disconnect the K1 and J1 rear speaker assembly connectors.
(e) Disconnect the T6 stereo component speaker assembly connector.
(f) Measure the resistance between each of the front No. 1 speaker assemblies and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(g) Measure the resistance between each of the front No. 2 speaker assemblies and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(h) Measure the resistance between each of the rear speaker assemblies and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(i) Measure the resistance between each of the stereo component speaker assembly and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(j) Measure the resistance between each speaker and body ground to check for a short circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY
(a) Resistance check
(1) Measure the resistance between the terminals of the speaker.
Standard Resistance:
NOTICE:
The speaker should not be removed to check resistance.

NG -- REPLACE FRONT NO.1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY
(a) Resistance check
(1) Measure the resistance between the terminals of the speaker.
Standard Resistance:
NOTICE:
The speaker should not be removed to check resistance.
Text in Illustration
NG -- REPLACE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. INSPECT REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY
(a) Resistance check
(1) Measure the resistance between the terminals of the speaker.
Standard Resistance:
NOTICE:
The speaker should not be removed to check resistance.
