CAN COMMUNICATION: CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM: DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM

1. BUS CHECK

(a) Using Techstream, select "CAN Bus Check" from the "System Select".

2. CHECK FOR INSTALLED SYSTEMS (ECUS AND SENSORS) THAT ADOPT CAN COMMUNICATION

(a) Systems (ECUs, sensors) that adopt CAN communication vary depending on the vehicle's optional settings. Check which systems (ECUs, sensors) are installed on the vehicle.

ECUs and sensors that are connected to the LIN communication system and the local CAN system are also displayed.





3. DTC TABLE BY ECU

HINT
* In the CAN communication system, CAN communication system DTCs can be displayed by the ECU using Techstream.
* If CAN communication system DTCs are output, trouble cannot be determined only by the DTCs. Perform troubleshooting according to "HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING" How to Proceed With Troubleshooting.

(a) ECM (2GR-FE)

HINT
The ECM is connected to the CAN communication system, but CAN communication DTCs are not output.

(b) ECM (1AR-FE)

HINT
* DTC communication uses the CAN communication system.
* *1: The ECM is malfunctioning if only U0101 is output. Refer to SFI system .






(c) TCM (U760E/1AR-FE)

HINT
* DTC communication uses the CAN communication system.
* *2: The TCM is malfunctioning if only U0100 is output. Refer to Automatic Transaxle system U0100.






(d) SKID CONTROL ECU

HINT
DTC communication uses the CAN communication system.





(e) AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER

* DTC communication uses the CAN communication system.
* The following DTC is output only for current malfunctions.






(f) COMBINATION METER

DTC communication uses the CAN communication system.





(g) POWER STEERING ECU

HINT
DTC communication uses the CAN system.





(h) MAIN BODY ECU

DTC communication uses the CAN system.





(i) CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR

The center airbag sensor is connected to the CAN communication system, but CAN communication DTCs are not output.

(j) STEERING ANGLE SENSOR

HINT
The steering angle sensor is connected to the CAN communication system, but CAN communication DTCs are not output.

(k) YAW RATE SENSOR

HINT
The yaw rate sensor is connected to the CAN communication system, but CAN communication DTCs are not output.

(l) CERTIFICATION ECU (w/ Smart key system)

HINT
The certification ECU is connected to the CAN communication system, but CAN communication DTCs are not output.

(m) BACK DOOR ECU (w/ Power back door system)

HINT
The certification ECU is connected to the CAN communication system, but CAN communication DTCs are not output.
