Intake Air Control Valve

2GR-FE INTAKE: INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE: ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1. INSPECT INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY

(a) Inspection procedure when applying voltage between the terminals:

(1) Remove the V-bank cover sub-assembly Removal.

(2) Disconnect the connector from the intake air control valve.

(3) Apply battery voltage between terminals 1 (-) and 2 (+) of the intake air control valve. Check that a clicking sound is heard from the intake air control valve.





If the result is not as specified, replace the intake air surge tank.

(4) Connect the connector to the intake air control valve.

(5) Install the V-bank cover sub-assembly Installation.

2. INSPECT NO. 3 INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY





(a) Inspect actuator operation:

(1) Remove the air cleaner cap sub-assembly Removal.

(2) With 26.7 kPa (200 mmHg, 7.9 in. Hg) of vacuum applied to the actuator, check that the actuator rod moves.

(3) One minute after applying the vacuum, check that the actuator rod does not return.

If the operation is not as specified, replace the No. 3 intake air control valve.

(4) Install the air cleaner cap sub-assembly Installation.
