Removal





2GR-FE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM: ECM: REMOVAL

NOTICE:
Before removing the tire pressure warning ECU, read the registered transmitter IDs of all wheels and write them down to use for re-registration of transmitter IDs Registration.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

3. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

Removal

4. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

5. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

6. REMOVE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) (w/ Smart Key System) Removal

7. REMOVE ECM

(a) Disconnect the 6 ECM connectors.





(b) Disconnect the tire pressure warning ECU connector and remove the nut and tire pressure warning ECU.





(c) Separate the 2 wire harness clamps.





(d) Remove the 2 nuts, bolt and ECM with the ECM brackets.

(e) Remove the 4 screws and 2 ECM brackets from the ECM.
