P313 HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL: HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM: P0C73-776: Motor Electronics Coolant Pump "A" Control Performance
P0C73-776 - Motor Electronics Coolant Pump "A" Control Performance
DESCRIPTION
The inverter water pump assembly (w/ motor) transmits rotation speed information to the hybrid vehicle control ECU. The hybrid vehicle control ECU monitors the speed and detects malfunctions.
MONITOR DESCRIPTION
The hybrid vehicle control ECU monitors speed of the inverter water pump assembly (w/ motor). If there is an abnormality in speed, the hybrid vehicle control ECU will illuminate the MIL and set a DTC.
MONITOR STRATEGY
TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS
TYPICAL MALFUNCTION THRESHOLDS
COMPONENT OPERATING RANGE
CONFIRMATION DRIVING PATTERN
1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the Techstream on.
3. Clear the DTCs (even if no DTCs are stored, perform the clear DTC procedure).
4. Turn the ignition switch off.
5. Turn the ignition switch to ON and check that there are no abnormalities (abnormal sounds, coolant leaks, DTC output, etc.).
6. Turn the ignition switch to ON (READY) and turn the Techstream on. [A]
7. Wait for 2 minutes or more.
8. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes. [B]
9. Check that permanent DTCs are cleared.
10. If the permanent DTCs are not cleared, perform a universal trip, and then check for permanent DTCs again.
HINT
- If a permanent DTC is output, the system is malfunctioning.
- If no permanent DTC is output, the system is normal.
