P3107-213 - Airbag ECU Communication Circuit Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

- The hybrid vehicle control ECU detects a problem in the collision signal line from the airbag sensor assembly and alerts the driver.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (AIRBAG)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / SRS Airbag / Trouble Codes.

(d) Check if DTCs are output.

Result:





(e) Turn the ignition switch off.

B -- GO TO DTC CHART Airbag System
A -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY (CHECK WAVEFORM)

(a) Turn the ignition switch to ON (READY).

(b) Connect an oscilloscope between the center airbag sensor assembly terminals specified in the table below, and measure the waveform.

B -- CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY
A -- Continue to next step.

3. CLEAR DTC

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

(d) Read and record the DTCs and freeze frame data.

(e) Clear DTCs and freeze frame data.

(f) Turn the ignition switch off.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HV)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

(d) Check if DTCs are output.

Result:





(e) Turn the ignition switch off.

B -- REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU Removal
A -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS

(a) Check for intermittent problems Check For Intermittent Problems.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE MALFUNCTIONING PARTS, COMPONENT AND AREA

OK -- REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU Removal

6. CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the D30 connector from the center airbag sensor assembly.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.





Standard Resistance:

(c) Connect the center airbag sensor assembly connector.

NG -- REPLACE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY)

(a) Disconnect the D30 connector from the center airbag sensor assembly.

(b) Disconnect the D72 connector from the hybrid vehicle control ECU.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





(d) Connect the center airbag sensor assembly connector.

(e) Connect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
