DESCRIPTION

* When the engine switch is turned on (IG), positive (+) battery voltage is applied to the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK BASIC FUNCTION (POWER SOURCE MODE FUNCTION)

(a) Check the basic function of the power source mode function.

OK:

Basic function operates normally.

NG -- GO TO SMART KEY SYSTEM (for Start Function) Smart Key System (for Start Function)
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT FUSE (IGN)

(a) Remove the IGN fuse from the engine room relay block.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU [SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY] - BATTERY)





(a) Disconnect the E29 ECU connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Theft Deterrent System
