Reassembly

DOOR / HATCH: BACK DOOR: REASSEMBLY

1. INSTALL TAIL GATE STAY SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Clean the threaded surface on the vehicle body with a non-residue solvent.

(b) Apply adhesive to the threads of the screws.

Adhesive:

Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent

(c) Using a T40 "TORX" wrench, install the tail gate stay with the 2 screws.

2. INSTALL TAIL GATE STAY SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

HINT
Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

3. INSTALL LOWER TAIL GATE LOCK ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, install the lower tail gate lock with the 3 screws.

Torque : 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf)

4. INSTALL BACK DOOR REMOTE CONTROL ASSEMBLY

(a) Connect the left side cable.

(b) Install the 2 screws.

Torque : 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf)

5. INSTALL LOWER TAIL GATE LOCK ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Connect the cable and install the lower tail gate lock.

(b) Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, install the lower tail gate lock with the 3 screws.

Torque : 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf)

6. INSTALL BACK DOOR INSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the back door handle grommet.

(b) Install the back door inside handle with the screw.

Torque : 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf)

7. INSTALL BACK DOOR TORSION BAR GUIDE

(a) Attach the 2 claws to install the back door torsion bar guide.

8. INSTALL LOWER BACK DOOR TORSION BAR ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the lower back door torsion bar with the 4 bolts.

Torque : 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf)

9. INSTALL SPARE TIRE

10. INSTALL REAR BUMPER COVER

(a) Install the rear bumper cover Installation.

11. INSTALL BACK DOOR TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY

(a) Attach the 16 clips and install the back door trim panel.

(b) Install the 4 bolts.

12. INSTALL BACK DOOR TRIM COVER RH

(a) Install the back door trim cover RH as shown in the illustration.

13. INSTALL BACK DOOR TRIM COVER LH

(a) Install the back door trim cover LH as shown in the in illustration.

17. INSTALL REAR WASHER NOZZLE

(a) Connect the hose.

(b) Attach the 2 claws to install the washer nozzle.

18. INSTALL REAR SPOILER SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear Spoiler) Installation

19. INSTALL BACK DOOR GARNISH SUB-ASSEMBLY OUTSIDE

20. INSTALL LOWER BACK DOOR STOPPER

(a) Install the lower back door stopper with the bolt.

21. INSTALL LIFT GATE WEATHERSTRIP

(a) Attach the 25 clips to install the lift gate weatherstrip.

NOTICE:
Do not pull strongly on the weatherstrip as it may tear.

22. INSTALL REAR TELEVISION CAMERA ASSEMBLY Installation

23. INSTALL BACK DOOR OPENER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Connect the connector and then install the back door opener switch.

(b) Install the 2 screws.

Torque : 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf)

24. INSTALL LICENSE PLATE LIGHT LENS Installation

25. INSTALL BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the back door lock with the 3 bolts.

Torque : 13 Nm (133 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf)

(b) Connect the connector.

26. INSTALL BACK DOOR LOCK COVER

(a) Attach the 4 claws to install the back door lock cover.

27. INSTALL REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Temporarily install the rear wiper motor assembly with the 3 bolts.

(b) Tighten the 3 bolts.

Torque : 5.5 Nm (56 kgf-cm, 49 in-lbf)

(c) Connect the connector.

28. INSTALL REAR WIPER MOTOR GROMMET

(a) Install the rear wiper motor grommet with the position mark facing upward as shown in the illustration.

29. INSTALL REAR WIPER ARM

(a) Operate the rear wiper, and stop the rear wiper motor at the automatic stop position.

(b) Clean the wiper pivot serration with a wire brush.

(d) Install the rear wiper arm with the nut.

Torque : 5.5 Nm (56 kgf-cm, 49 in-lbf)

(e) Close the cover.

30. INSTALL REAR HEADER SPEAKER ASSEMBLY Installation

31. INSTALL BACK DOOR GARNISH

(a) Attach the 14 clips to install the back door garnish.

32. INSTALL BACK DOOR SIDE GARNISH LH

(a) Attach the 3 clips to install the back door side garnish.

33. INSTALL BACK DOOR SIDE GARNISH RH

(a) Attach the 5 clips and 2 claws to install the back door garnish.

36. INSTALL LOWER BACK DOOR STOPPER CUSHION

(a) Install the 2 lower back door stopper cushions with the 4 bolts.

37. INSTALL BACK DOOR GRIP

(a) Install the back door grip with the 2 screws.

38. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
