Removal

3UR-FE ENGINE MECHANICAL: ENGINE UNIT: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE ENGINE WIRE





(a) Engine LH Side:

(1) Disconnect the 2 camshaft timing control valve connectors.

(2) Disconnect the 4 ignition coil connectors.

(3) Disconnect the 2 VVT sensor connectors.

(4) Disconnect the camshaft position sensor connector.

(5) Disconnect the vacuum switching valve connector (for ACIS).

(6) Disconnect the purge VSV connector.

(7) Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.

(8) Disconnect the fuel injector connector.

Disconnect the noise filter connector.

Remove the bolt and disconnect the 7 clamps.

(b) Engine RH Side:





(1) Disconnect the 2 camshaft timing control valve connectors.

(2) Disconnect the 4 ignition coil connectors.

(3) Disconnect the 2 VVT sensor connectors.

(4) Disconnect the fuel injector connector.

(5) Disconnect the noise filter connector.

(6) Disconnect the throttle sensor connector.

(7) Disconnect the oil pressure sender gauge connector.

(8) Disconnect the 7 clamps.

(c) Engine Rear Side:





(1) Disconnect the 2 air switching valve connectors.

(2) Disconnect the 5 clamps.

(3) Remove the 3 bolts.

(d) Remove the engine wire.

2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

3. REMOVE NO. 3 ENGINE COVER Removal

4. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL HOSE





(a) Remove the fuel hose Service Precautions.

5. DISCONNECT NO. 2 FUEL TUBE Removal

6. DISCONNECT NO. 1 FUEL TUBE Removal

7. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Removal

8. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH Removal

9. REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY Removal

10. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD

(a) Disconnect the ventilation hose from the ventilation pipe of the cylinder head cover LH and RH.





(b) Disconnect the 2 water by-pass hoses.





(c) Disconnect the No. 1 ventilation hose.





(d) Remove the bolt and wire bracket from the intake manifold.





(e) Remove the 2 nuts, 8 bolts, intake manifold and 2 gaskets.





11. REMOVE NO. 2 FUEL TUBE





(a) Remove the 2 bolts and No. 2 fuel tube.

12. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL TUBE





13. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE COVER Removal

14. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER Removal

15. REMOVE NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Oil Cooler) Removal

16. REMOVE NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS HOSE Removal

17. REMOVE FRONT WATER BY-PASS JOINT Removal

18. REMOVE AIR PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 bolts, air pipe and 2 No. 1 air hoses.





19. REMOVE WATER INLET HOUSING Removal

20. REMOVE WATER BY-PASS PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the 2 bolts and water by-pass pipe.

21. REMOVE AIR SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY Removal

22. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR TUBE Removal

23. REMOVE NO. 3 AIR TUBE Removal

24. REMOVE ENGINE WIRE





(a) Disconnect the 4 knock sensor connectors.

(b) Disconnect the 3 clamps. Then remove the engine wire.

25. REMOVE SEPARATOR CASE

(a) Remove the 4 bolts and separator case.





26. REMOVE KNOCK SENSOR

(a) Remove the 4 bolts and 4 knock sensors.





27. REMOVE CYLINDER BLOCK WATER DRAIN COCK SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the 2 water drain cock plugs from the water drain cocks.

(b) Remove the 2 water drain cocks from the cylinder block.

28. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET RH





(a) Remove the 4 bolts and mounting bracket.

29. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET LH





(a) Remove the 4 bolts and mounting bracket.

30. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 8 bolts and 8 ignition coils.





31. REMOVE NOISE FILTER

(a) LH:

Remove the bolt and noise filter from the cylinder head cover.

(b) RH:

Remove the bolt and noise filter from the cylinder head cover.
