DESCRIPTION

When a door is opened while the DOOR switch of the map light assembly is on, the map light assembly receives a door open signal from the main body ECU and turns on the corresponding lights.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Operate the Techstream according to the steps on the display and select "Active Test".

2. INSPECT FUSE (DOME2)

(a) Remove the DOME2 fuse from the engine room junction block.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAP LIGHT - BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the R7 map light connector.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. INSPECT MAP LIGHT

(a) Remove the map light Removal.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

NG -- REPLACE MAP LIGHT Removal

OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU

5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAP LIGHT - ROOM NO. 1 LIGHT)

(a) Disconnect the R7 map light connector

(b) Disconnect the R10 light connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

6. INSPECT MAP LIGHT

(a) Remove the map light Removal.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

NG -- REPLACE MAP LIGHT Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

7. CHECK ROOM NO. 1 LIGHT (OPERATION)

(a) Temporarily replace the room No. 1 light with a new or normally functioning one.

(b) Check the room No. 1light illuminates.

OK:

No. 1 room light illuminates.

NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU

OK -- END

8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAP LIGHT - ROOM NO. 2 LIGHT AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Room No. 2 Light:

(1) Disconnect the R7 map light connector.

(2) Disconnect the R4 light connector.

(3) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

(b) Room No. 2 Light:

(1) Disconnect the R7 map light connector.

(2) Disconnect the R8 and R9 light connectors.

(3) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

for LH

Standard Resistance:

for RH

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

9. INSPECT MAP LIGHT

(a) Remove the map light Removal.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

NG -- REPLACE MAP LIGHT Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

10. CHECK ROOM NO. 2 LIGHT (OPERATION)

(a) Temporarily replace the room No. 2 light with a new or normally functioning one.

(b) Check the spot light illuminates.

OK:

room No. 2 light illuminates.

NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU

OK -- END

11. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAP LIGHT - NO. 3 ROOM LIGHT AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the R7 map light connector.

(b) Disconnect the R6 light connector.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

12. INSPECT MAP LIGHT

(a) Remove the map light Removal.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

NG -- REPLACE MAP LIGHT Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

13. CHECK ROOM NO. 3 LIGHT (OPERATION)

(a) Temporarily replace the room No. 3 light with a new or normally functioning one.

(b) Check the room No. 3 light illuminates.

OK:

No. 3 room light illuminate.

NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU

OK -- END
