Component Tests and General Diagnostics





TIRE / WHEEL: TIRE AND WHEEL SYSTEM: INSPECTION

1. INSPECT TIRES

(a) Check the tires for wear and proper inflation pressure.

Standard Cold Tire Inflation Pressure:





(b) Using a dial indicator, check the tire runout.

2. ROTATE TIRES

Rotate the tires as shown in the illustration.

3. INSPECT WHEEL BALANCE

(a) Check and adjust the off-the-car balance.





(b) If necessary, check and adjust the on-the-car balance.

Standard imbalance after adjustment:

7 g (0.0154 lb) or less

NOTICE:





* Using a cleaning detergent, remove dirt, oil and water from the areas shown in the illustration.
* Do not touch the adhesive part of the balance weight.
* Adhere the balance weight to the areas shown in the illustration.
* Push the balance weight securely with your fingers to attach it.
* Do not reuse the balance weight.
* Use up to 2 balance weights on each side (a maximum of 4 balance weights on a wheel).
* When using 2 balance weights on one side, select a pair that have the smallest difference in weight.

4. INSPECT FRONT AXLE HUB

(a) Inspect the front axle hub Testing and Inspection.

5. INSPECT REAR AXLE SHAFT

(a) Inspect the rear axle shaft Rear Axle Shaft.
