Rear Wheel Alignment





ALIGNMENT / HANDLING DIAGNOSIS: REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT: ADJUSTMENT

NOTICE:
For vehicles equipped with VSC, if the wheel alignment has been adjusted, and if suspension or underbody components have been removed/installed or replaced, be sure to perform the following initialization procedure in order for the system to function normally:

(a) Disconnect the negative battery terminal for more than 2 seconds.
(b) Reconnect the negative battery terminal.

1. INSPECT TIRE Component Tests and General Diagnostics

2. MEASURE VEHICLE HEIGHT Front Wheel Alignment

3. INSPECT CAMBER





(a) Install a camber-caster-kingpin gauge or put the wheels on a wheel alignment tester.

(b) Inspect the camber.

Standard Camber Inclination (Unloaded Vehicle):





* If the measured value is not within the specified range, inspect the suspension parts for damage and wear. Replace parts as necessary because camber cannot be properly adjusted with any damaged or worn parts.

4. ADJUST CAMBER





(a) Loosen the camber adjust cam nut.

(b) Rotate the camber adjust cam on the vehicle side of No. 2 lower arm to adjust camber.

Standard Camber Inclination (Unloaded Vehicle):





(c) Tighten the nut.

Torque : 250 Nm (2549 kgf-cm, 185 ft-lbf)

5. INSPECT TOE-IN





Standard toe-in (Unloaded Vehicle):





* If the toe-in is not within the specified range, inspect the suspension parts and replace if necessary.

6. ADJUST TOE-IN





(a) Loosen the toe adjust cam bolt.

(b) Rotate the toe adjust plate on the vehicle side of lower arm No. 2 to adjust toe-in.

Standard toe-in (Unloaded Vehicle):





(c) Tighten the bolt.

Torque : 120 Nm (1224 kgf-cm, 89 ft-lbf)

7. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal for more than 2 seconds.

8. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

Torque : 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf)

9. PERFORM YAW RATE SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION

10. CHECK STEERING ANGLE SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION
