DESCRIPTION

The inside/outside handles control operation of the power slide door. Pulling either handle transmits a request signal to the power slide door ECU RH, which then commands the power slide door control motor and clutch to open or close the power slide door.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (HANDLE SWITCH)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Rear Right Door / Data List.

(e) Check if the handle switch is functioning properly.

OK:

When the handle switch is operating, the Techstream should display as shown in the table.

NG -- INSPECT SLIDE DOOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY RH

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Power Slide Door System

2. INSPECT SLIDE DOOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY RH

(a) w/o Smart Key System

(1) Remove the slide door handle assembly RH Disassembly.

(2) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

(b) w/ Smart Key System

(1) Remove the slide door handle assembly RH Disassembly.

(2) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

NG -- REPLACE SLIDE DOOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY RH Disassembly
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK REAR DOOR WIRE RH (SLIDE DOOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY RH - ECU RH AND BODY GROUND)

(a) w/o Smart Key System

(1) Disconnect the I9 power slide door ECU RH connector.

(2) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
