Windshield Deicer Does Not Operate
WINDOW / GLASS: WINDSHIELD DEICER SYSTEM: Windshield Deicer does not Operate
- Windshield Deicer does not Operate
DESCRIPTION
When the rear window defogger switch on the air conditioning control assembly is pressed, the operation signal is transmitted to the air conditioning amplifier assembly through a LIN communication line. When the air conditioning amplifier assembly receives the signal, it turns on the integration relay to operate the windshield deicer.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM
(a) Check the air conditioning system.
HINT
Both the windshield deicer system operation signal and air conditioning system operation signal are transmitted to the air conditioning amplifier assembly through the same communication line.
Result
C -- GO TO AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM (for Manual Air Conditioning System) How to Proceed With Troubleshooting
B -- GO TO AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM (for Automatic Air Conditioning System) How to Proceed with Troubleshooting
A -- Continue to next step.
2. REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY
(a) Temporarily replace the air conditioning control assembly with a new or normally functioning one (for automatic air conditioning system: Removal, for manual air conditioning system: Removal)
(b) Check the operation of the windshield deicer system.
OK:
The windshield deicer system operates normally.
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INTEGRATION RELAY - BODY GROUND)
OK -- END (AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY IS DEFECTIVE)
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INTEGRATION RELAY - BODY GROUND)
(a) Disconnect the 1C and 1D integration relay connectors.
