C1240 - Yaw Rate Sensor Discrimination
DESCRIPTION
HINT
This DTC is frequently recorded when a standalone yaw rate and acceleration sensor is connected to a vehicle that is w/o VDIM.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
* When replacing the brake actuator assembly or yaw rate and acceleration sensor, perform zero point calibration and store system information Programming and Relearning.
* If the vehicle is w/o VDIM, confirm that a standalone yaw rate and acceleration sensor is not installed. If a standalone yaw rate and acceleration sensor is installed, remove it.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK VEHICLE EQUIPMENT
(a) Confirm whether the vehicle is w/ VDIM or w/o VDIM.
Result
B -- RECONFIRM DTC
A -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK PART NUMBER (YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR)
(a) Check that the part number of the installed yaw rate and acceleration sensor is correct.
OK:
Yaw rate and acceleration sensor installed in the vehicle has the correct part number.
NG -- REPLACE YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. RECONFIRM DTC
(a) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(b) Check if the same DTC is recorded Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
Result
B -- REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY Removal
