C1380 - Stop Light Control Relay Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

Upon receiving the hill-start assist control or the dynamic radar cruise control operating signal from the skid control ECU, the relay contact turns on and the stop light comes on.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
When replacing the brake actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration and store system information Programming and Relearning.

HINT
When DTC C1425 and/or C1426 is output together with DTC C1380, inspect and repair the trouble areas indicated by DTC C1425 and/or C1426 first C1425, or C1426).

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT STOP LP RELAY

(a) Remove the STOP LP relay from engine room relay block.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.





Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPLACE STOP LP RELAY
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT STOP LP RELAY (ST+ TERMINAL)

(a) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

3. INSPECT STOP LP RELAY (STP TERMINAL)

(a) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STOP LIGHT CONTROL RELAY ASSEMBLY - STOP LP RELAY)
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU (STP2 TERMINAL)

(a) Install the STOP LP relay.

(b) Disconnect the A4 skid control ECU connector.

(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

5. INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU (STP1 TERMINAL)

(a) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STOP LIGHT CONTROL RELAY ASSEMBLY - STOP LP RELAY)

(a) Disconnect the A43 stop light control relay Assembly

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

8. INSPECT STOP LIGHT CONTROL RELAY ASSEMBLY (+B TERMINAL)

(a) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
