Removal





INTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD: REMOVAL

1. BOLT, SCREW AND NUT TABLE

(a) The bolts, the screws and the nuts, which are necessary for installation and removal of the instrument panel are shown in the illustration below with alphabets.





2. TURN FRONT WHEELS TO FACE STRAIGHT AHEAD

3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

4. REMOVE CONSOLE ASSEMBLY (for Slide Type)

6. REMOVE LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER Removal

7. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER Removal

10. REMOVE LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER Removal

11. REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER Removal

12. REMOVE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY Removal

13. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY RH Removal

14. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY LH Removal

15. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH Removal

16. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH Removal

17. SEPARATE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH

18. SEPARATE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

19. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL LOWER FINISH PANEL





(a) Remove the 2 bolts.

(b) Disengage the 10 clips and 3 guides and No. 1 instrument panel lower finish panel.

(c) Disconnect the connectors.

(d) Disengage the 3 claws and separate the fuel lid lock open lever.





(e) Disengage the 3 claws and separate the hood lock control lever.

20. REMOVE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
Removal

21. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH

Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

22. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL





(a) Disengage the claw and 5 clips and remove the instrument panel finish panel.

23. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH





(a) Disengage the claw and 9 clips and remove the No. 2 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.

24. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Turn the shift lever knob counterclockwise and remove the shift lever knob.

25. REMOVE FLOOR SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR HOUSING SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Disengage the 4 clips and remove the floor shift position indicator housing.

26. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL





(a) Disengage the 11 clips and remove the No. 1 instrument cluster finish panel.

27. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Removal

28. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY (for Manual Air Conditioning System) Removal

29. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Air Conditioning System) Removal

30. REMOVE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY Removal

31. REMOVE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (w/ USB Audio System) Removal

32. REMOVE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (w/o USB Audio System) Removal

33. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the 2 bolts and 2 screws.

(b) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the glove compartment door.

34. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH





(a) Disengage the 5 claws and 2 guides and remove the instrument side panel RH.

35. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Disengage the 4 claws and 2 clips and remove the instrument panel finish panel.

36. REMOVE NO. 4 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY





(a) Disengage the 4 clips and remove the No. 4 instrument panel register.

37. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX DOOR SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 2 claws and remove the cover.

(b) Remove the 3 screws.





(c) Disengage the 5 clips and remove the No. 2 instrument panel box door.





38. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH





(a) Remove the clip and remove the instrument panel finish panel end RH.

39. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH

Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

40. REMOVE INSTRUMENT LOWER CENTER COVER (w/o Front
Console Box)





(a) Disengage the 7 clips and remove the instrument lower center cover.

41. REMOVE INSTRUMENT LOWER CENTER COVER (w/ Front Console Box)





(a) Disengage the 6 clips and remove the instrument lower center cover.

42. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH LOWER CENTER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the 3 clips.

(b) Remove the 2 bolts (w/o front console box).

(c) Disengage the 4 claws and 2 clips.





(d) Disconnect the connectors and remove the instrument cluster finish lower center panel.

43. REMOVE BOX BOTTOM MAT

(a) Remove the box bottom mat.

44. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH CENTER PANEL ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the 4 screws.

(b) Disengage the 4 clips.





(c) Disconnect the connectors and remove the instrument cluster finish center panel.

45. SEPARATE SHIFT LOCK CONTROL UNIT ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the 4 nuts and separate the shift lock control unit.

46. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH Removal

47. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH Removal

48. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR LOWER GARNISH RH Removal

49. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR LOWER GARNISH LH Removal

50. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Disengage the 5 claws and 2 clips and No. 1 instrument panel speaker panel.

51. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

Use the same procedure as for the No. 1 instrument panel speaker panel.

52. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL COVER





(a) Disengage the 4 claws and 4 clips and remove the instrument cluster finish panel cover.

53. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY Removal

54. REMOVE FRONT NO. 3 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY Removal

55. REMOVE ACCESSORY METER ASSEMBLY Removal

56. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the 5 , bolts and nut.

(b) Disconnect the connectors and remove the instrument panel.
