Mobility Seat Inoperative Due to Spacer Interference

Applicability

Introduction

Some 2011 Sienna vehicles with the factory mobility seat option may exhibit a condition where the seat slide function becomes inoperative due to plastic spacer interference in the slide mechanism. A new spacer has been developed to address this condition.

Repair Procedure





1. Move mobility seat out of the vehicle until the caution label is visible on the rear cover.





2. Disengage the 2 attachment buttons from under the rear portion of the seat to remove the cover and expose the slide mechanism.

3. Remove the plastic spacer (black color).

A. On the left side of the slide mechanism locate the plastic spacer.





B. Unclip the front clip and then the rear clip to remove the spacer from the slide mechanism.

4. Install new plastic spacer.

A. Install new spacer in reverse order of removal. Snap in rear clip then snap in front clip.





B. Make sure spacer is securely fastened to the slide mechanism and verify gap between plastic spacer and slide mechanism. Maximum gap is 0.5 mm.

5. Reattach the cover by snapping the 2 buttons under the rear portion of the seat. Verify the cover is flat and not wrinkled.

6. Cycle the Auto Access Seat to verify operation.
