Applicability

Introduction

Some 2005 - 2011 model year Tacoma vehicles may exhibit abnormal noises such as a ticking/clicking noise or squeal noise from the blower motor. An updated blower motor is available to address this condition.

Repair Procedure

1. Confirm the blower motor noise.

2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.





3. Disconnect the 2 clips and the blower motor 2-pin connector as shown in Figure 1.





4. Remove the 3 bolts and remove the blower motor as shown in Figure 2.

5. Install the NEW blower motor and the 3 bolts as shown in Figure 2.

6. Connect the 2-pin blower motor connector and the 2 clips as shown in Figure 1.

7. Connect the negative (-) battery terminal (no initializations are necessary).

8. Confirm the blower motor operates correctly and the squeal noise is no longer present.
