DESCRIPTION

If the ECU detects trouble, it lights the ABS warning light while at the same time prohibiting ABS control. At this time, the ECU records a DTC in the memory.

Connecting terminals TC and CG of the DLC3 causes the ECU to display 2-digit DTCs by flashing the ABS warning light.

WIRING DIAGRAM

ABS Warning Light Remains ON.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK ABS WARNING LIGHT

(a) Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Check that the ABS warning light comes on.

OK:

ABS warning light comes on.

(d) Turn the ignition switch off.

(e) Reconnect the skid control ECU connector.

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - COMBINATION METER)

OK -- REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY Removal

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - COMBINATION METER)

(a) Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.

(b) Disconnect the combination meter connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. INSPECT COMBINATION METER

(a) Turn the ignition switch off.

(b) Reconnect the skid control ECU connector.

(c) Connect a Techstream to the DLC3.

(d) Perform Active Test of the combination meter using the Techstream Data List / Active Test.

OK:

The ABS warning light turns ON or OFF in accordance with the Techstream.

NG -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER Removal

OK -- REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY Removal
