Applicability

Introduction
Some 2009-2012 MY Tacoma vehicles may exhibit a wind whistle type noise coming from upper area of the windshield or the outer perimeter of the windshield. This may be caused by a windshield molding fitment issue and/or windshield urethane sealer application issue. Follow the directions provided in this bulletin to address this issue.

Repair Procedure

1. Verify the condition.

2. Use masking tape to cover the windshield molding and drive vehicle to confirm the wind whistlenoise is eliminated. If the noise is still heard, this TSB does not apply.

3. Remove and reseal windshield following the service manual or sublet to a glass removal company.

NOTE
Windshield molding will be damaged during windshield removal and must be replaced.

NOTE
Make sure the upper windshield molding is pressed tightly up against the edge of the windshield, ensuring the molding lip does not sit higher then the roof line during the re-sealing procedure.

4. Test drive the vehicle to verify the noise is gone.
