Rear Door Outside Handle Removal

HINT

Perform the same procedure for the left and right rear door handles.

1. Disconnect cable from negative battery terminal.





2. Remove rear door frame garnish LH.

A. Disengage the 4 clips and remove the rear door frame garnish LH.

B. Confirm that no clips remain on the door panel when the garnish is removed. Transfer any remaining clips to the garnish side before installing.





3. Remove rear power window regulator switch assembly.

A. Using a plastic pry tool, disengage the 2 claws, then pull out the rear power window regulator switch assembly by pulling it toward the front of the vehicle.

B. Disconnect the connector, then remove the rear power window regulator switch assembly.

4. Remove rear door trim panel assembly LH.





A. Remove the screw, then remove the door assist grip assembly LH.





B. Disengage the 9 clips.

C. Remove the rear door trim panel assembly by sliding it upward.

5. Remove rear door service hold cover LH.





A. Remove the rear door service hole cover LH.

B. Remove the remaining tape on the door side.





6. Remove rear door lock assembly LH.

A. Disconnect the connector.

B. Using a T30 Torx socket, remove the 3 screws,then remove the rear door lock assembly LH.





7. Using a T30 Torx socket, loosen the screw and remove the rear door outside handle cover LH.

8. Remove rear door outside handle assembly LH.





A. Remove the outside handle by sliding and pulling it in the direction indicated by the arrow mark in Figure 35.





B. Disengage the 3 claws and remove the outside handle front pad.





9. Remove rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly LH.

A. Using a T30 Torx socket, remove the screw.

B. Proceed to Installation Procedure.
