B15BB - Multi-media Interface ECU Malfunction
DESCRIPTION
This DTC is stored when a malfunction occurs in the multi-media interface ECU.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT
After the inspection is completed, clear the DTC.
PROCEDURE
1. REPLACE "iPod" OR USB DEVICE
(a) Disconnect the USB device or "iPod" from the stereo jack adapter.
(b) Turn the ignition switch off.
HINT
When one of these DTCs has been stored, is necessary to turn off the ignition switch to make it possible for the vehicle to recognize a new device when it is connected.
(c) Turn the ignition switch to ACC.
(d) Connect a known good USB device or "iPod" to the stereo jack adapter.
HINT
If the malfunction occurred when a USB device was in use, use another USB device for the inspection. If the malfunction occurred when an "iPod" was in use, use another "iPod" for the inspection.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
2. CLEAR DTC
(a) Clear the DTCs Navigation System (w/ USB Audio System).
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
3. RECHECK DTC
(a) Recheck DTCs and check if the same DTC occurs again.
OK:
Malfunction disappears.
NG -- INSPECT MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU
OK -- USB DEVICE OR "iPod" WAS DEFECTIVE
4. INSPECT MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU
(a) Disconnect the J100 No. 1 stereo jack adapter assembly connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU - STEREO JACK ADAPTER)
OK -- REPLACE NO. 1 STEREO JACK ADAPTER ASSEMBLY Removal
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU - STEREO JACK ADAPTER)
(a) Disconnect the J116 multi-media interface ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the J100 No. 1 stereo jack adapter assembly connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU Removal
