Center Differential Lock Circuit - Vehicle Stability Control System

BRAKE CONTROL: VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM: C1340/47: Center Differential Lock Circuit
C1340/47 - Center Differential Lock Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The skid control ECU monitors the 2WD/4WD state from both the 4WD control ECU and the A.D.D. detection switch.

WIRING DIAGRAM

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
When replacing the VSC actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration Calibration.

HINT
If the transfer shift actuator cannot change from 2WD to 4WD or 4WD to 2WD, inspect and repair the touch select 2-4 and high-low system first.

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU (EXI2 TERMINAL)

(a) Set the vehicle in 4WD state using the A.D.D. detection switch.

(b) Disconnect the A17 ECU connector.

(c) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(d) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

(e) Connect the A17 ECU connector.

(f) Set the vehicle in 2WD state using the A.D.D. detection switch.

(g) Disconnect the A17 ECU connector.

(h) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(i) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - 4WD CONTROL ECU)

OK -- REPLACE VSC ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY Removal

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - 4WD CONTROL ECU)

(a) Confirm that the skid control ECU connector and 4WD control ECU connector are properly connected.

(b) Disconnect the A17 and A25 ECU connectors.

(c) Disconnect the G1 A.D.D. actuator connector.

(d) Inspect both the connector case and the terminal for deformation and corrosion.

OK:

No deformation or corrosion.

(e) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (4WD CONTROL ECU - BODY GROUND)

(a) Confirm that the 4WD control ECU connector and A.D.D. actuator connectors are properly connected.

(b) Disconnect the A25 ECU connector.

(c) Inspect the connector case and the terminal for deformation and corrosion.

OK:

No deformation or corrosion.

(d) Connect the A25 ECU connector.

(e) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. RECONFIRM DTC

(a) Clear the DTC(s) Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

(b) Start the engine.

(c) Check if the same DTC(s) is output Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

Result

B -- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

A -- REPLACE 4WD CONTROL ECU
