Repair Procedure

1. Confirm that the condition is the rear driveshaft clunk/think noise.

A. Test drive the vehicle and confirm the customer's complaint.

B. Place the vehicle on the lift and confirm all drivetrain mounts are torqued properly.

Are all drivetrain mounts torqued properly?

^ If Yes - Replace the rear driveshaft (propeller shaft assembly). Go to Step 2.

^ If No - Properly torque the drivetrain mounts and test drive to confirm the noise is gone.

If the noise is still present, go to step 2.

2. Install the NEW driveshaft (propeller shaft) assembly.

Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS), applicable model year Tundra Repair Manual:

3. Test drive and confirm that NO abnormal vibrations or shudders occur while driving, and that the driveshaft clunk/think noise is eliminated.
