DESCRIPTION
The main body ECU receives a light control switch information signal from the headlight dimmer switch, and illuminates the taillights.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (TAILLIGHT)
(a) Operate the Techstream according to the steps on the display and select "Active Test".
Main Body
OK:
Taillight turns on / turns off.
NG -- INSPECT FUSE (TAIL)
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
2. INSPECT FUSE (TAIL)
(a) Remove the TAIL fuse from the main body ECU.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TAILLIGHT - BATTERY)
(a) for LH:
(1) Disconnect the R5 taillight connector.
(2) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:
(b) for RH:
(1) Disconnect the R4 taillight connector.
(2) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - BATTERY)
OK -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (TAILLIGHT - BODY GROUND)
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - BATTERY)
(a) Disconnect the DA ECU connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TAILLIGHT - MAIN BODY ECU)
(a) Disconnect the DB ECU connector.
(b) for LH:
(1) Disconnect the R5 taillight connector.
(2) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
(c) for RH:
(1) Disconnect the R4 taillight connector.
(2) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU
