Applicability
Introduction
Some 2011 model year Avalon and Tundra vehicles equipped with a combination rear view mirror/monitor/compass may stop indicating the correct compass heading direction even after calibration. An updated mirror assembly is now available.

This TSB applies to vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown.
Warranty Information
APPLICABLE WARRANTY
^ This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.
^ Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.

Repair Procedure
1. Remove the inner rear view mirror.
Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS) applicable model and model year Repair Manual:
^ 2011 Avalon / Tundra:

2. Install the updated mirror.

3. Calibrate the compass in the rear view mirror.

4. Verify correct operation of the compass and all other rear view mirror accessories.
