Removal

3UR-FBE ENGINE MECHANICAL: ENGINE UNIT: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE ENGINE WIRE





(a) Engine LH Side:

(1) Disconnect the 2 camshaft timing control valve connectors.

(2) Disconnect the 4 ignition coil connectors.

(3) Disconnect the 2 VVT sensor connectors.

(4) Disconnect the camshaft position sensor connector.

(5) Disconnect the vacuum switching valve connector (for ACIS).

(6) Disconnect the purge VSV connector.

(7) Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.

(8) Disconnect the fuel injector connector.

(9) Disconnect the noise filter connector.

(10) Remove the bolt and disconnect the 7 clamps.

(b) Engine RH Side:





(1) Disconnect the 2 camshaft timing control valve connectors.

(2) Disconnect the 4 ignition coil connectors.

(3) Disconnect the 2 VVT sensor connectors.

(4) Disconnect the fuel injector connector.

(5) Disconnect the noise filter connector.

(6) Disconnect the throttle sensor connector.

(7) Disconnect the oil pressure sender gauge connector.

(8) Disconnect the 7 clamps.

(c) Engine Rear Side:





(1) Disconnect the 2 air switching valve connectors.

(2) Disconnect the 5 clamps.

(3) Remove the 3 bolts and disconnect the 3 wires.

(d) Remove the engine wire.

2. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the No. 1 fuel pipe Service Precautions.

3. REMOVE CYLINDER BLOCK WATER DRAIN COCK SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the 2 water drain cock plugs from the water drain cocks.

(b) Remove the 2 water drain cocks from the cylinder block.

4. REMOVE FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR RH

(a) Remove the nut and mounting insulator.





5. REMOVE FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR LH

(a) Remove the nut and mounting insulator.





6. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET RH





(a) Remove the 4 bolts and mounting bracket.

7. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET LH





(a) Remove the 4 bolts and mounting bracket.

8. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Removal

9. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH Removal

10. DISCONNECT VENTILATION HOSE ASSEMBLY Removal

11. REMOVE NO. 1 TUBE





(a) Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 tube.

12. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD Removal

13. REMOVE NO. 2 FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY





Remove the 2 bolts and No. 2 fuel tube.

14. REMOVE FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY





15. REMOVE NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS PIPE (w/ Oil Cooler) Removal

16. REMOVE NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS HOSE Removal

17. REMOVE FRONT WATER BY-PASS JOINT Removal

18. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE COVER Removal

19. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER Removal

20. REMOVE WATER PUMP PULLEY Removal

21. REMOVE NO. 1 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

22. REMOVE FAN BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

23. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY Removal

24. REMOVE OIL PRESSURE SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY Removal

25. REMOVE AIR TUBE Removal

26. REMOVE WATER INLET HOUSING Removal

27. REMOVE WATER BY-PASS PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

28. REMOVE AIR SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY Removal

29. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR TUBE Removal

30. REMOVE NO. 3 AIR TUBE Removal

31. REMOVE ENGINE WIRE





(a) Disconnect the 4 knock sensor connectors.

(b) Disconnect the 3 clamps. Then remove the engine wire.

32. REMOVE SEPARATOR CASE Removal

33. REMOVE KNOCK SENSOR Removal

34. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY Removal

35. REMOVE NOISE FILTER

(a) LH:

Remove the bolt and noise filter from the cylinder head cover.

(b) RH:

Remove the bolt and noise filter from the cylinder head cover.
