DESCRIPTION

When the front power seat switch is operated, a signal is sent to the front seat adjuster, which then operates each motor. When 2 or more signals are input to the front seat adjuster, the motors only operate when the signals are from the slide switch and reclining switch.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1. CHECK SEAT OPERATION

(a) Operate the power seat switch and check that the front power seat operates.

C -- INSPECT FUSE (FR P/SEAT LH)

B -- INSPECT FUSE (FR P/SEAT LH)

2. INSPECT FUSE (ECU-B1, ECU-IG No. 1, FR P/SEAT)

(a) Remove the ECU-B1 fuse from the engine room relay block.

(b) Remove the FR P/SEAT LH and ECU-IG No. 1 fuses from the main body ECU.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the Z9 and Z10 switch connectors.





(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard voltage:





(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. INSPECT FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Disconnect the Z9 switch connector.





(b) Apply battery voltage and check the operation of the power seat.

OK:





NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH - POSITION MOTOR)

OK -- REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH Removal

5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH - POSITION MOTOR)

(a) Disconnect the Z9 switch connector.





(b) Disconnect the Z3, Z4, Z5 and Z6 motor connectors.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH Disassembly

6. INSPECT FUSE (FR P/SEAT LH)

(a) Remove the FR P/SEAT LH fuse from the main body ECU.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.

7. INSPECT FRONT POWER SEAT LUMBAR SWITCH

(a) Remove the switch Removal.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT LUMBAR SWITCH Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

8. INSPECT FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Disconnect the Z2 switch connector.





(b) Apply battery voltage and check the operation of the power seat.

OK:

OK -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER SEAT LUMBAR SWITCH - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER SEAT LUMBAR SWITCH - LUMBAR SUPPORT MOTOR LH)

(a) Disconnect the Z2 switch connector.





(b) Disconnect the Z7 motor connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH Disassembly

10. INSPECT FUSE (FR P/SEAT LH)

(a) Remove the FR P/SEAT LH fuse from the main body ECU.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.

11. INSPECT LEG SUPPORT ADJUSTMENT SWITCH

(a) Remove the switch Removal.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE LEG SUPPORT ADJUSTMENT SWITCH Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

12. INSPECT FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Disconnect the U1 switch connector.





(b) Apply battery voltage and check the operation of the power seat.

OK:

(a) Disconnect the U1 switch connector.





(b) Disconnect the Z8 motor connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

19. INSPECT FRONT POWER SEAT LUMBAR SWITCH

(a) Remove the switch Removal.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:

OK -- Continue to next step.

20. INSPECT FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Disconnect the Y10 switch connector.





(b) Apply battery voltage and check the operation of the power seat.
