DESCRIPTION

When fully deploying or stowing the automatic running board takes more than 4 seconds, or when the side auto step motor hall sensor pulse signal exceeds the maximum pulse count, the side auto step ECU halts the operation of the automatic running board.





INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK AUTOMATIC RUNNING BOARD OPERATION

(a) Confirm the operation of the automatic running board and proceed to the steps indicated below.

B -- REPLACE SIDE AUTO STEP MOTOR ASSEMBLY Removal

C -- INSPECT POWER LIFT STEP ASSEMBLY
A -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT POWER LIFT STEP ASSEMBLY

(a) Check that the links of the power lift step assembly are properly installed.

(b) Check that the links of the power lift step assembly are not damaged.

OK:

Links of the power lift step assembly are properly installed.

Links of the power lift step assembly are not damaged.

NG -- REPLACE POWER LIFT STEP ASSEMBLY Removal

OK -- REPLACE SIDE AUTO STEP MOTOR ASSEMBLY Removal

3. INSPECT POWER LIFT STEP ASSEMBLY

(a) Check that the links of the power lift step assembly are properly installed.

(b) Check that the links of the power lift step assembly are not damaged.

(c) Check that there is no dirt or foreign matter jamming the power lift step assembly links.

HINT
* In cold times, snow or ice may jam the power lift step assembly links and prevent them from moving smoothly.
* Clean any dirt and foreign matter jamming the moving link sections of the power lift step assembly if necessary.

OK:

Links of the power lift step assembly are properly installed.

Links of the power lift step assembly are not damaged.

There is no dirt or foreign matter jamming the moving sections of the power lift step assembly links.

NG -- REPLACE POWER LIFT STEP ASSEMBLY Removal

OK -- REPLACE SIDE AUTO STEP MOTOR ASSEMBLY Removal
