Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

EXTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: AUTOMATIC RUNNING BOARD SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR

1. CHECK DTC

(a) Turn the side auto step switch assembly to OFF.

(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(c) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(d) Turn the Techstream on.

(e) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.

(f) Turn the Active Test "Power Running Board Forced Retracting" to ON.

(g) Open either the front or rear door on the driver side and the front or rear door on the passenger side.

(h) Turn the side auto step switch assembly from AUTO to OFF 5 times in succession within 3 seconds.

(i) Check the number of times that the automatic running board warning light on the combination meter flashes.





HINT
* When the system is normal, the automatic running board warning light blinks at 0.25 seconds intervals (0.25 seconds on and 0.25 seconds off).
* When only 1 DTC is stored, the light outputs the same code after an interval of 4 seconds.
* When 2 or more DTCs are stored, the light outputs the codes with an interval of 2.5 seconds between each different code, and the output of all codes repeats after an interval of 4 seconds.
* When multiple codes are output, they are output in order of the lowest code number first.






(j) Turn the Active Test "Power Running Board Forced Retracting" to OFF to finish DTC check.
