Removal





U760E AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE: PARK / NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH: REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL Removal

3. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH Removal

4. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH Removal

5. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

6. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY Removal

7. SEPARATE EJECTOR TUBE Removal

8. REMOVE OUTER COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

9. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

10. REMOVE NO. 2 INLET AIR CLEANER Removal

11. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

12. REMOVE AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

13. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

14. REMOVE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Move the shift lever to N.

(b) While expanding the claws of the clip, remove the transmission control cable assembly and clip from the transmission cable bracket.





(c) Remove the nut and transmission control cable assembly from the control shaft lever.





(d) Disconnect the park/neutral position switch connector and clamp.

(e) Remove the clip from the transmission control cable assembly.

(f) Remove the nut, washer and control shaft lever from the control shaft.





(g) Remove the 2 bolts and park/neutral position switch from the control shaft.





NOTICE:
Before removing the park/neutral position switch, remove any dirt or rust on the installation portion of the control shaft. Be sure to remove the switch straight along the shaft while being careful not to deform the plate spring that supports the shaft. If the plate spring is deformed, the park/neutral position switch cannot be reinstalled correctly.
