How to Proceed With Troubleshooting
NAVIGATION: NAVIGATION SYSTEM: HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING

Use the following procedure to troubleshoot the navigation system.
1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE
(a) Measure the battery voltage with the ignition switch off.
Standard Voltage:
11 to 14 V
If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding to the next step.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
3. DIAGNOSTIC QUESTIONING AND SYMPTOM CONFIRMATION
(a) Ask the customer about symptoms and confirm malfunctions.
Result:
B -- Go to step 9, AND PROCEED TO "BLACK SCREEN"
A -- Continue to next step.
4. OPERATION CHECK
(a) Refer to Check System Normal Condition Operation Check.
Result:
B -- SYMPTOM IS NORMAL OPERATION
A -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Refer to DTC Check/Clear Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
Result:
HINT
If the system cannot enter the diagnostic mode, inspect the AVC-LAN and all the components that connect to the AVC-LAN for short circuits and repair or replace the problem part AVC-LAN Circuit.

6. DTC CLEAR
(a) Refer to DTC Check/Clear Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
HINT
The present DTCs may not indicate actual malfunctions depending on the vehicle operating conditions.

7. RECHECK FOR DTC
(a) Refer to DTC Check/Clear Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
Result:
HINT
* Even if the malfunction symptom is not confirmed, check for DTCs. This is because the system stores history DTCs.
* Refer to the detailed description on the diagnostic screen as necessary System Description.
* Check the DTCs and inspect the area that the code indicates.

8. DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART
(a) Find the output code in Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart Navigation System.

9. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
(a) Refer to Problem Symptoms Table Problem Symptoms Table.

If the symptom does not recur and no DTC is output, attempt to reproduce the systems How To Proceed With Troubleshooting.

10. PERFORM TROUBLESHOOTING BASED ON THE MALFUNCTION SYMPTOM
(a) Refer to Terminals of ECU Pinout Values and Diagnostic Parameters.

11. CHECK CIRCUIT
(a) Adjust, repair or replace as necessary.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
12. RECHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE
