Tarpaulin Frame/Tarpaulin, Installing
- Place tarpaulin frame on bed (requires four technicians).
- Mount rail -1- in corners of bed so outer foot edges -2- are flush with center of profile -arrows-.
- Mark holes -3- (9.0 mm dia.) and drill.
- Deburr holes in sideboard flange -4-.
NOTE: Touch-up drilled holes, apply corrosion protection as required.
- Bolt tarpaulin frame to bed.
1 - hex bolt M8 x 40
2 - washer A8.4
3 - hex nut M8
4 - deflector plate
5 - self-tapping screw
NOTE: Cover two rear rail feet with deflector plate -4-, due to safety considerations.
- Fasten left and right front rails to sideboard with mounting bracket -1-, hex bolt (M8 x 22) -2- and hex nut (M8) -3-.
- Remove Phillips screws -4- from both sides.
- Pull tarpaulin over tarpaulin frame and secure.
- Secure holding pipe for tarpaulin -1- in place with six hex bolts (M6 x 26) -2-, washer (B6.5 x 21 x2) -3- on left and right front.
- Mark holes (4.1 mm dia.) -4- for water deflector plate -5- on left and right front, drill and deburr.
- Lower hole
a = 15 mm (approx. 19/32 in.)
b = 18 mm (approx. 45/64 in.)
- Water deflector plate -5- serves as a template for center and upper holes.
- Repair paint damage

- Fasten water deflector plate -5-, left and right front, with tubular rivets (N 900 978 01).
